Conditions of Hire

General
  • Vehicles are hired for a minimum of 1 hour which commences
    when the vehicle arrives at the designated pick-up location.
  • Journeys exceeding the specified time incur overtime charges
    per 15 min. intervals.
  • AAMY reserves the right to replace any vehicle with a substitute
    in case of a breakdown or other emergency.

Limitations of Use

  • Vehicles will not be taken into areas or situations drivers consider
    unsafe and thus may put vehicle and/or passengers at risk
    (examples are: unruly crowds at locations, unsuitable roads or
    driveways with potholes, speed humps, steep ascents or descents)
  • Vehicles will not proceed if their licenced carrying capacities are
    breached.
  • In accordance with current road safety rules, all passengers accept
    responsibility for wearing seat belts.

Passenger Behaviour

  • Smoking is prohibited within all vehicles.
  • No objects or parts of a body are to be placed outside the vehicle whilst in motion.
  • Drivers may end the journey at any point if objected to indiscriminate behaviour by passengers (i.e. shouting, unruliness in general or due to intoxication and/or obscenities of any kind).

Accountability of Passengers

  • The hiring customer will be accountable for and charged $5.00 per glass broken in negligence.
  • Cost of steam cleaning necessitated by major spills of drinks or stomach disorders will be forwarded to the customer in charge of the booking.

Liability

  • While all care is taken, no responsibility is taken for items left in the vehicles.
  • The undersigned is responsible for ensuring that all passengers are aware of the hiring conditions.
  • The person (or guardian of) having made the booking, is held liable for not properly seat-belted passengers under the age of 16.

Bookings & Payments

  • Tentative bookings may be made by phone, fax or electronic mail at any time. They are not confirmed unless payment or, at least, 20% deposit on the total quoted price is received and/or accepted by our office within five working days after the booking was made.
    Alternatively, our office may hold credit card details as security for the booking under the condition that authorisation by the relevant merchant bank is provided. Credit card details are destroyed after full payment is made.
    If for any reason a booking is cancelled by the customer, a deposit will not be refunded. If only credit card details were provided, a service charge (minimum $55.00; up to 20% of total quoted price) is charged to the credit card. The deposit or service charge is kept as a holding fee. Pending availability of vehicles, the customer has the right to postpone the booking to a later date (up to 90 days after the original booking date).
    The deposit or service charge for the postponed date is considered paid unless the original booking was scheduled for a major function or sporting event such as the Melbourne Cup Day, Oaks Day, Grand Prix etc. Deposits or service charges will not be refunded for bookings made on these dates.
  • Any balance owed must be paid to the driver on arrival of the vehicle before the journey commences. Any overtime charge must be paid to the driver before departure of the vehicle.
    Cheques are accepted if credit card details are held as security.
    Other methods of payment are accepted for the balance owed. AAMY accepts all major credit cards, but adds a 10% handling surcharge on top of the overall hire charge.
  • If payments are not made in full, a further 13% administrative surcharge may be applied.
  • All invoices must be paid by the stipulated due date to avoid further costs.
  • Please do not send cash via Australia Post.
  • AAMY will not accept responsibility for any delays of cheques posted via Australia Post.
  • Receipts will be issued on request only.
